Vincent Gallo: RECORDINGS OF MUSIC FOR FILM very rare Cassette

$600.00

Most of Vincent Gallo’s early masterpiece recordings were made on a ¼” Ampex 351-2, a ¼” Tandberg 6x, or a Nakamichi 1000 cassette deck. The Ampex and Tandberg machines were garbage picked and restored by Gallo, while his beloved Nakamichi 1000 cassette deck was purchased fully serviced and working from Stereo Exchange in NYC. Gallo sacrificed his entire savings to purchase the Nakamichi 1000.

Years later, while assembling the original masters for his highly influential LP Recordings of Music for Film, Gallo was reminded of how many of his spectacular recordings had either been recorded directly to cassette or at least mixed to cassette. So, when the formerly important and formerly great label WARP Records begged Gallo to release his early recordings, Gallo insisted that at least a small number of cassette versions be produced. A very, very small number.

This one here is a personal copy kept by Gallo and, so far, the only one he has signed.

Priceless.

Just when you thought there might never be another great Gallo item offered, your dreams come true.
